THANK YOU FOR VISITING US.

New Albany for Kids is an independent, grass roots volunteer organization.  Our mission is to promote academic excellence in the New Albany – Plain Local School District through on-going advocacy, communication, and community involvement.

WHAT'S NEW?
Updated: November 6, 2011

New Albany for Kids encourages the community to come out to hear Superintendent April Domine discuss the most recent academic report.  This is a good opportunity to hear about important academic achievement metrics, ask questions about future plans, and share opinions about future directions.
Academic achievement in New Albany schools should go far beyond state standardized tests, but these tests are an important starting point for the discussion.  To prepare for the presentation, here are some helpful items to learn more.

  • Explore the Ohio Department of Education's interactive site to find current and historical Local Report Card data, as well as a glossary of terms.

EVENTS

NAPLS Academic Achievement report

Join New Albany-Plain Local Schools Superintendent April Domine for a presentation and discussion of the district’s Academic Achievements. The 2011 Academic Achievement Report includes current and historic statistics for most national and state testing, accompanied by analysis and comparisons.

The goal of this discussion is to organize district and building data around measures that include and go beyond the state’s Local Report Card, to provide a more in-depth review of the district’s student achievement. Superintendent Domine will highlight key data, identify trends and patterns of performance, and present the district’s key goals and strategies for the current academic year.

Date: Wednesday, November 9, 2011

Time: 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Location:  The McCoy Center for the Arts, Mershad Hall

STRATEGIC PLANNING

Members of New Albany for Kids executive leadership team participated on the Planning Committee and Action Plan teams.  We continue to be a strong advocate for strategic planning and community engagement.  We would like to see broader community awareness and engagement.  We have already asked school officials to develop a comprehensive communications and engagement plan and we hope to see greater efforts in this area.
